Está equipada con dos pantallas y sirve para ver películas en el mismo formato.
La compañía japonesa Nintendo desveló en Los Ángeles su anticipada Nintendo 3DS, su consola portátil con imágenes en tres dimensiones que se ven a simple vista sin necesidad de gafas especiales.
Tal y como había anunciado en marzo, Nintendo empleó su presentación anual en la jornada inaugural de la Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), que se celebra en la ciudad californiana hasta el 17 de junio, para dar a conocer su nueva consola de la serie DS, centrada en 3D.
El producto, introducido por el presidente de la empresa, Satoru Iwata, tiene un aspecto similar al de los anteriores dispositivos portátiles de Nintendo.
Está equipado con dos pantallas, una superior de 3,5 pulgadas para imágenes en 3D que se pueden ver a simple vista y cuenta con un control para ajustar la intensidad del efecto, y otra inferior táctil en 2D.
Iwata aseguró que Nintendo introdujo importantes avances en el hardware para incrementar la calidad gráfica del dispositivo, que tiene sensores de movimiento y de giro, si bien uno de sus alicientes será la capacidad de la Nintendo 3DS para tomar fotografías y reproducirlas en 3D.
Asimismo, la Nintendo 3DS servirá para ver películas en 3D con la colaboración de estudios como DreamWorks, Disney y Warner Brothers.
Iwata omitió dar detalles sobre el precio del producto o su fecha de salida, aunque en marzo se informó que estaría disponible en el año fiscal actual que comenzó en abril y termina el 31 de marzo de 2011.
Más que por la sensación de que los objetos se salen de la pantalla, que es sutil, el efecto 3D en la nueva DS se percibe fundamentalmente en la creación de profundidad, tras una primera prueba realizada por Efe.
Iwata confirmó que su compañía trabaja con los principales fabricantes de juegos para construir una colección de títulos específicos de 3D, entre los que destacó el retorno de un popular personaje de la marca con “Kid Icarus Uprising”, aunque la consola será compatible con los programas existentes actualmente para DS.
Otros juegos en desarrollo son DJ Hero, Fifa Soccer, Resident Evil y Metal Gear Solid.
La Nintendo 3DS se convertirá así en la sucesora de la línea de dispositivos portátiles DS, un producto de gran éxito para la empresa nipona lanzado en 2004 del que vendió más de 125 millones de unidades en todo el mundo hasta diciembre de 2009.
El lanzamiento de la Nintendo 3DS sigue al de Nintendo DSi XL, que salió en marzo y se convirtió en la consola portátil con las pantallas más grandes del mercado con 4,2 pulgadas.
Nintendo tenía hasta la fecha la Nintendo DS, seguida por la versión más ligera Nintendo DS Lite y posteriormente Nintendo DSi, que incorporaba cámaras de fotografía en el dispositivo.
A pesar de la relevancia de la puesta en escena de la consola en 3D, el factor sorpresa en la conferencia de Nintendo llegó en términos de los nuevos videojuegos para los usuarios de Wii y DS.
Se confirmaron los rumores y vio la luz “Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword” para Wii, que tendrá como novedad que los controles Wiimote Plus simularán la espada y el escudo.
Un juego que se podrá comprar en 2011, lo mismo que “Mario Sports Mix”, donde el icónico fontanero Mario se medirá en nuevas pruebas deportivas.
Este año, Nintendo recuperó emblemáticos personajes como “Donkey Kong” que en noviembre estrenará aventura para Wii, “Donkey Kong Country Returns”, por la misma fecha saldrá el multijugador “”Wii Party”, una nueva entrega de “GoldenEye 007″, y “Golden Sun Dark Dawn”, en su caso para DS.
En otoño volverá también “Kirby” con “Kirby’s EpicYarn”, mientras que el 31 de agosto se podrá adquirir para Wii “Metroid: Other M”.
Nintendo aprovechó el evento de este martes para dar un adelanto de “Disney Epic Mickey”, un viaje en el que el conocido ratón entrará en el mundo de los personajes olvidados de la casa Disney y revisitará algunos escenarios antiguos de las populares historias de ese estudio.
A pesar de los rumores, la empresa japonesa no presentó ningún nuevo periférico para su consola Wii. EFE
